4 Page Mississippi Trip Update!

So Mississippi was totally awesome! I never thought I’d like it as much as I did. It was insane. And to thing when I was flying down there I was having doubts about just picking up and leaving for a week. I’m definitely glad I went! Here’s the play by play.

Saturday February 12th. I got to the airport waaaaay too early so mother and I just sat there for awhile. My flight left at 10:59 to Atlanta. I was super excited to be on the plane and I got a window seat! We landed a little bit early which was cool since I had no idea how big the airport was. I grabbed some lunch and took a 20 minute walk to my gate! I didn’t have to wait too long to board this one. The plane was so tiny I was getting claustrophobic. It was a short ride to Gulfport. I got in around 3:30 their time and Nate picked me up. We took the long way home so he could show me the gulf coast and Biloxi. All the casino resorts looked fun but he’s anti-gambling so that was out of the question. We got to his parents house around 5:30 and shortly after had dinner.

After dinner we went to Nate’s house in Lucedale which is about 15 minutes away! There I got to see Stephen after like 3 years! It was so fun! He looked totally different! Then we went next door to his church so he could practice a song, but that didn’t last too long. He wanted to go to Sonic for a milkshake so we went back over to his house and picked up Stephen and his girlfriend Tiffany and went. I love Sonic we sooo need one in New York! I’m going to write a letter.

Anyway, after we dropped them off we went back to Movella, where his parent’s house is, and chilled for the night. His father’s church was having a revival that weekend so Grover and his wife were there from Saturday night till Wednesday morning. So I got to bunk with Jenn, but I didn’t actually see her that night because she came home super late from a concert.

Sunday February 13th. Sunday was literally a day full of church! Nate woke me up at the crack of dawn (like 8). I finally got to see Jenn as she crawled down from bed! Nate and I got dressed then left for his church. I went to the ladies Sunday school. I enjoyed that a lot more than I thought I would. Those people are like the nicest people I have ever met! Super sweet! After that Nathan preached and then we left to go back to Movella. His dad’s church was having lunch at the church so we had lunch there. I had the best tasting chicken casserole EVER! His mother made it and it was soooooo good! After lunch we had another church service where Grover preached! After that Nathan and I just chilled till it was time to go back to his church around 6ish for his marriage class. LoL. He was teaching a class on marriage for his church people. How funny is that?! After that Nathan preached again. This time he included words that involved food which wasn’t cool because I was starving! LoL. So afterwards we went to Mobile Alabama which is like half an hour from them. It’s like their main city that’s closest to them. I got all excited of course because now I was in Alabama! I know I’m a dork! We had dinner at O’Charley’s, which is kind of like Ruby Tuesday’s. After dinner we headed home. We were both exhausted!

Monday, February 14th. Nate let me sleep a little bit longer today, but not by much. We had plans to meet his sister Sabrina in Hattiesburg which is about an hour, maybe a little bit longer, away. He showed me her cute little apartment complex, and then we headed up to Laurel, which is about a half hour from there. There we met up with his cousin Pat and we all went to lunch at a Mexican restaurant! On the way back to Hattiesburg we went through some of the University of Southern Mississippi. That was exciting! Then we went to the mall! Haha! I had to go to GNC of course! We headed home after that because Grover was preaching at Movella again. After church Nate had reservations for us at Copeland’s for Valentine’s Day. Awww! How sweet is he! They have Louisiana style food there. It was good. They gave you a lot of food, which I didn’t finish and brought home for Jenn. After dinner we took a drive through the University of South Alabama, where Stephen goes. Nate bought me a rose for Valentine’s Day! It was sweet of him. :) After that we headed home for the night.

Tuesday, February 15th. I thought today was going to be boring, but it turned out to be very good. We left early because we had to drive to Laurel where Nate’s college is. I actually went to more classes there than I do here! His first class was Western Civ. The teacher was very nice and I loved listening to her talk. She was talking about Queen Elizabeth and such. Her lecture style was more like she was telling a story the whole time. I can see how someone who isn’t good in history could do bad there. But I enjoyed her class.

After that class we got some lunch at Sonic, and then went to their library so I could print some school work out. His next class was Evangelism. I found that to be very interesting. The teacher was pretty cute too!! Haha. They were talking about different witnessing techniques, I think is what it’s called. It was interesting. I liked that class.

After that class we went to a store called Dirt Cheap which I guess is kind of like our TJ Max or AJ Wright. I found a car charger for my new phone for $10. So that was hot. The next class was Biology. They were dissecting an Earthworm. It reminded me more of my biology class in high school rather than a college class. His teacher was cool too. Very nice people out there. Much better than SCCC!

After this class we went to a local coffee shop and he did a little studying for his next class which was sociology. They just took a test there so I didn’t get to hear much in that class or see what it’s like. I texted Stephen and his cousin Pat while I waited for him to get done with his test.

We went to McAlister’s for dinner. It was really good. They have all sorts of subs and soups and baked potatoes! Yum! Another place I wish we had here! The south has all the best places to eat! After dinner we drove back to Movella and just chilled for the night

Wednesday, February 16th. We met up with Stephen in Mobile for lunch at some Mexican restaurant. They like Mexican down there! Nate and I got Fajitas, but I screwed up my order and Stephen found that funny. It was good though. Stephen had to go back to class so Nate and I went to a Christian bookstore and bought me a King James Version Bible. LoL. He didn’t like my NIV one so I got a KJV one just for him! ;) We stopped at the mall in Mobile for a little bit. I didn’t find anything there so we started to head back home.

Stephen and I had dinner together that night! Haha! Everyone else was off eating in another room and Nate was studying so Stephan and I were the only ones at the table! How cute, right? After dinner Nate and I went back to his church for their Wednesday night Revelation study. I got to meet his ex which was exciting. Then we went to Wal*Mart! Haha! Fun exciting times at Wal*Mart!

Thursday, February 17th. We went to Krispy Kreme in the morning! I’ve had their donuts, but never actually been to the place it self so that was awesome! Then we headed to Pensacola Beach, Florida. Of course we picked the day when it was the coldest. I think it was like lower 60’s or high 50’s but we were on the beach so it felt colder. I wish it was warmer so we could have stayed longer, but I was freezing! We went down to the water for a little bit and picked up seashells. We drove around and he showed me what the hurricane did to the town. Then I picked up some souvenirs for myself and some other people.

Then we started to head back towards home. We stopped in Alabama at this restaurant called Lambert’s Café. He kept talking about it so he wanted to show me it. It was really cool. They throw rolls at you. Like they won’t hand them to you they’ll toss them to you. The food was really good too, kind of reminded me of Cracker Barrel. But they also have certain food that they “pass around” too. It was cool. Yes, another restaurant we need to have up here!

Thursday night Nate, his Dad and Stephen had a meeting at church for the youth so I tagged along for that. They had some good ideas and such. I’m not going to be around for any of the events they were talking about so I just listened! Afterwards we made another trip to…Wal*Mart!! Haha!

Friday, February 18th. Nate and I went to brunch at Waffle House. It’s kind of like a diner styled IHOP! It was ok although I like IHOP way better! Afterwards we went to another Christian bookstore and then headed back home because we had to be there when Jenn got home. We just chilled after that I had to work on some accounting homework so I worked on that and Nate did something. We had dinner at the house that night which was super good! Even Stephen was there!! Haha.

That night Nate and his dad had another meeting to go to. This one was for the BMA. It was more interesting too. It was a business meeting then a service. Nate and his father didn’t agree with the pastor that preached. I didn’t either. He wanted to bring everything back to the old school. But afterwards there was more food to eat! YaY! I had this awesome taco salad that someone made! Seriously, those people know how to cook! We got home late and headed to bed.

Saturday, February 19th. I got to sleep in on Saturday! YaY! When I woke up I was hungry so I dragged Nate to Sonic again for the last time. I had some ice cream this time which of course was super good. I’m obsessed with their diet coke with lime! I made Nate go and get it for me like 10 times!

We spent some time in Lucedale including going back to Wal*Mart!! Of course he knew everyone there! We ran into one of his church members. She’s a sweet old lady! One of my favorites!! Her granddaughter asked me if I lived in Times Square! Ha! How cute was that?!

We went over to the school to see Jenn at her cheerleading clinic. It was sooo cute! She’s going to try out for the squad this spring! Aww! I hope she makes it! After she was done we headed home. We were the only ones there so we played LIFE. I never played before and I won! YaY! Then we all curled up together to watch SAW. Jenn and I got freaked out so we turned it off. LoL.

It was a full house that night. Sabrina and her husband Chad slept over. So it was fun!

Sunday, February 20th. Woke up and had these super good muffins his mother made for breakfast! Mmm! Then headed to his church. I went with him and another church member to pick up some of the children that go to the church. We went to some of the bad parts of town. Scary. There weren’t that many children there that day either. I had Sunday school with the same ladies again! They were so nice. Then there was church, and then we headed home for lunch with everyone. I was exhausted so I took a nap till it was time to go back to church.

Nate taped the night service for me! Then he said something about me not wanting to go back home right before the end and I got all emotional! After the service I was standing next to Nate saying goodbye to everyone and I almost started to cry, but I held it in! It was tough though.

Afterwards Nate brought Jenn and I to Pizza hut to get dipping strips cause he promised!! Hehe! They were good too! On the way back home I made him stop at Sonic for my diet with lime! Hehe.

That night we watched SAW with Stephen and Tiffany! I finally sat though it! I was surprised but I did real well! Stephen stayed over that night too. Aww…my last night there!

Well kids, there’s the details for the most part. I had a great time and cannot wait to go back!!
