Bad Week!

It's been a bad couple of days! Tonia's baby passed away at birth, my aunt found out she's a carrier for Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD). Which means my cousin's all have to be tested to see if they have the X Gene that carries the disease. There's a 50% chance each one of them has it and if they do have the gene they will 100% develope the disease some time in their lives. There's a movie out called Lorenzo's Oil which is about a boy who got the diease and it explains all about it. It's a good movie, I watched it the other day. Colleen's brother, Jeff, died of ALD, back in the 70's.

Jose's house caught on fire last week. It was horrible. It was something with the electric or something. The whole downstairs is going to be completly redone. They said it's going to take 6-8 months. Right now the family is staying at a hotel. All his suites were ruined, but S&K sent him some overnight Fed EX, which was hot! The saddest thing though is both his dogs died. The black one died the day of the fire from smoke inhilation and the tan one was responsive to the oxygen, but they ended up putting him down a few days later. I felt so bad for Jose. He loved those dogs! He's really upset over it.

So that's what's been going on. I've been with Jose most of the time, buying him some new clothes and what not.

Tomorrow he has another soccer game...that's something to look forward to anyway...
